     Summary :- Swami and Friends(1935) ,is a pure art  of childhood written by R K Narayan. He is  a pure artist of Indian English literature. He has also gone through the experiences of journalist as his career. First of all, he writes for newspapers and magazines then he starts writing as a pure writer. His work may be classified into different categories as political novels, domestic novels and sensational novels. He has written about 10 novels and more than 150 short stories.In learning about the town "Malgudi", readers are introduced to Swaminathan and his friends in  his novel, a group which includes Somu, Sankar, Mani and Pea. R. K. Narayan(1906- 2001), was born in a village 'Rashipuram' in Madras, South India. His father's name was Krishna Swami and he educated at Maharaja College in Mysore. There  was a magic represented by him that 'R' represented his village and 'K' represented his father. He himself established as a writer, written for newspapers and magazines.
